Losing a companion of our home...

It is probably going to be a "blah" day today.  We lost our dog yesterday.  Kierra had her stomach flip.  It happens to perfectly fit dogs in middle age who have deep chests and that describes her.  Fine in the morning and afternoon and gone in the evening.  It is the second cause of death behind cancer in dogs of those characteristics.  We got her from the pound after the accident that Stephanie and the boys were in and she also was there when I went through cancer.  She went "vegan" with us, too.  We were concerned about how she would make the move to Oglesby but she did it in stride and actually we think the backyard was such a haven for her.  I love this picture that is attached of her in "her" backyard.  So the house feels really empty today.
