A new year on the radio...Purpose & Life?

Here is the first installment of "Down To The River" on Classic Hits 103.9 WLPO.  I probably say that phrase in my sleep because I have said it so many times.  We are participating in the Explore God initiative in the Chicagoland area.  The first question is, "Does Life Have A Purpose?"  There is always a favorite part of the segment and this week was the description of 3 types of people in New York City.  I think this could be used in other applications.

The first is the native.  The one born there.  The one who doesn't even see the city anymore.  Are you just existing?

The second is the locust.  This one lives outside the city limits but comes in to consume its resources.  Are you just consuming?

The third is the star.  This is the one who has come to NYC because he or she needs a world stage to be discovered.  Are you just performing?

I always end the broadcast with, "And may you receive the blessings of God as you live your life to the glory of Him."  The "as" is the most important word of that sentence.  The blessings of God come "as" we live a life that honors Him.  May that be my prayer and yours today.
