Zechariah 9:11-17 says,...Bible reading week 37, day 1

Today's verses are Zechariah 9:11-17 which read,

Deliverance of Judah and Ephraim

11  As for you also, because of the blood of My covenant with you, I have set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.
12 Return to the stronghold, O prisoners who have the hope; This very day I am declaring that I will restore double to you.

13 For I will bend Judah as My bow, I will fill the bow with Ephraim.  And I will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece; And I will make you like a warrior’s sword.

14 Then the Lord will appear over them, And His arrow will go forth like lightning; And the Lord God will blowthe trumpet, And will march in the storm winds of the south.

15 The Lord of hosts will defend them.  And they will devour and trample on the sling stones; And they willdrink and be boisterous as with wine; And they will be filled like a sacrificial basin, Drenched like the corners of the altar.

16 And the Lord their God will save them in that day As the flock of His people; For they are as the stones of a crown,
Sparkling in His land.

17 For what comeliness and beauty will be theirs!  Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine the virgins.
Here are some triumphal verses.  These verses are all about restoration.  And in verse 11 we see it is because of God's covenant that this is happening.  The people of Israel and us included are responding to what has been done or said by God.  We are on the receiving end of His great love when we rise in obedience and His great wrath when we reject His provisions.
God's restoration is always in abundance.  He provides victory over enemies but these victories come as we follow after Him.  There is a worship of Him tied to the victories.  The victories show us again of how much He loves us.  We are of His flock and as sparkling stones in a decorated crown that this cared for its preservation.
With these victories comes our productive work.  The young men are in the fields bringing in the grain and the virgins are in the winepress stomping out new wine.  The victories bring about more opportunities to worship and serve.  With this abundance of the land came different types of offerings to offer to the Lord and also the caring for those around them.
Have you had a recent victory that has come from the Lord?  What was the outcome of that victory?  Was it worship?  Was it more service that the victory allow you to love others as God has loved you?  Victories are to be proclaimed and especially those that the Lord has brought about.  Let us let the word known about where this victory has come from.  Let us pray.
"Lord, may we open our mouths of where our strength comes from.  May we recognize it is You who are loving us so much that we live out that victory among others.  May we have a joy in serving You today as a recipient of seeing You and following Your will for our lives.  Amen."
