Friday Focus and already a month in to 2019, some photos too...
Where did January 2019 go?
Not only do the days click by but the months and years also. Remember being so concerned about moving from the year 1999 to the dreaded 2000 and the Y2K scare? That was 19 years ago! Blink again and we will be a quarter into this century.
Pictures capture the change so let me share with you a copy shots from the latest roll from my old film camera.
Our most recent family trip was to Castle Rock, Colorado to meet our eighth grandchild. I thought I should take a picture of the namesake of the town.
Here is Connor Lawrence giving you the eye.
Here he is again waking up from a long winter's nap.
One last shot is of our son Abe and little Adeline. We gave them sleds as Christmas presents so we did this with the other three twice a day for the week. The hill kept getting bigger and bigger with each trip back to the top. Adeline, two years ago, was the baby but now she has turned into a big sister, just like that! Snap!
What will the month of February hold for you? Mine will include the usual Sunday morning and evening services, midweek Bible studies, my continuing education session, conducting yearly membership classes, taping of the weekly radio broadcast, a couple different area pastor gatherings, and bi-monthly elder meetings. Lord willing, we will finish the Explore God series launched all over the Chicagoland area and also complete Luke chapter 13 on our trek through this Gospel account chapter by chapter and verse by verse. We are now 20 months in.
The winter months are also times to jump in on some online conferences around the nation. They are usually in places that are much warmer than I reside but I get to camp out in my office for a few days with my Bible and legal pad and soak in a lot of great teachings via the internet.
Moody's Founder's Week - February 4-8 - The Inspired Word
The Shepherd's Conference - March 5-8 - Faithful
2019 Ligonier National Conference - March 14-16 - He is Holy
The Gospel Coalition 2019 Conference - April 1-3 - Conversations With Jesus
These are a few of my "must view" either livestream or following when it fits into my schedule. I pray that you also have opportunity to feed your soul with some great teaching from the Bible while we wait for the green grass of Spring to appear again.
One last photo is of the new addition to the yard at our mobile in Florida. Stephanie has planted a kumquat tree to accompany our lemon tree. Yes, Stephanie is in Florida escaping the deep freeze but home soon to face the reality that it isn't quite spring yet.
