Always learning...

A recent attendance to our annual fall men's retreat yielded another lesson that stretches to other areas of my life.  The speaker, Dave Garda of Cadre Ministries, took us to Colossians 3:17-24.  In the teaching of this passage he also shared the common technique used by the Apostle Paul and others called the "Sandwich Construct."   Dave likes Oreos so he renamed it the "Oreo Construct."   He explained that the "Oreo Construct" is starting with that top chocolate layer and then proceeding to the cream layer and then ending with that similar bottom chocolate layer.  Colossians 3:17 starts with the top chocolate layer, which reads, "And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." This is the overarching right answer.  But what is the "whatever you do?"   How would you define this?  Can you give us some examples?  Therefore we move to the cream...

Zechariah 14:9-15 says...

Today's verses are Zechariah 14:9-15, which read, v.9 - And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one. In our last study we were talking about the coming of the Lord.  The Lord will provide provision for the remnant who trust in Him and He will provide punishment for those who go against Him.  Now we read that a reign of the Lord is coming which is over all the earth and His reign will be supreme.  He is the only Lord and His name is the only name.  Let's cross reference to Revelation 11:15 which reads, Then the seventh angel sounded, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever." We also think of John 14:6 and Jesus' words,  Jesus said to him,  "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." And also Philipp...

More development of the blog...

As I am preparing for the future, I am updating the blog to be used by others who might be wondering who the Wolfgang's are and would they be a good fit for continued ministry through an interim pastoral type of ministry.   On the top of the page, under the title "Living light and in the Light" is a new page called "Some history of the Wolfgangs" which will take you to the journey that God has taken us on. Click on the 3 little lines in the top left corner of the home page and a side bar will appear. On that sidebar are links.  The first is to our YouTube Channel.  I have been working on creating playlists of the radio program "Down To The River" and also the sermon series on books of the Bible. The next link is to IPM, Interim Pastoral Ministries.  This will redirect to their site and you can read about their mission and vision and also resources like videos from its director, Tom Harris. I hope to also add other links that would be pertin...
