Some glimpses of Machias Valley Baptist Church

Just an update to let you know that we are doing well.  I have found the way to the bell of MVBC.  It is a grand bell but with no rope to ring it anymore.  It is holding up well being exposed to the elements.  It was a great day to be up here with a breeze off the ocean.

The church has 3 levels at least and also a unique gymnasium that is about 5 feet below ground level.  It doubles as the fellowship area with a kitchen off to one side.  On hot and humid days like today it is the preferred place to be in this building that doesn't have central air conditioning.

Lastly to this short post is the acoustics of this partially sunk gymnasium.  Ignore my voice and starting this song off to high but listen to the reverb and sustain.  I need to get the congregation down here for a sing some evening.  We could truly sing for our supper in this place.

An important weekend coming up with a men's hiking outing tomorrow and a first Sunday starting the process of an intentional transition.  Sunday night I will present a high view of the process and also introduce our family to this church family.  We will end with a time looking at the basics of a Biblical church from Acts chapter 2.

I pray it was a great 4th holiday for you all.  I spent part of mine going with a son who lost his 96 year old father who fought in WWII.  Fitting to leave on the 4th of July.
