Friday Focus of photos...the eyes!

I'm learning that you need to catch their eyes.  This is a trip to see Jason and Samantha, Libby and Taylor.  Grandma had some quality time with the girls reading them stories.  Taylor veered away from the book to see what Grandpa was doing.

Here is our Libby who is now 4!  She came to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa and a treat was some chocolate chip gluten free cookies.  Grandma is at home in her kitchen and she loves to include the grandchildren.

A recent trip to Colorado brought some fun on a little sledding hill with these three, Evan, Andy, and Adeline.  I got two of the three looking at me before heading down the slope on the tube.

Now we are at the bottom of the hill and I still have two of the three.  They sure loved their time seeing how far they could go each time.

This one was still a little too young to be out on the slopes.  Little Connor did a lot of this.  Sometimes when you are so cute that is all you have to do.  These pictures were taken with a little Canon rangefinder camera with 400 speed film and no flash.

This is a common activity of our lives, helping our children strike out on their own.  I am sure Stephanie is giving Ben some last instructions before we leave.  We are so thankful for all of our children and how they love God.  They are responding with service of Him in word and deed.  I am sure we shed some tears on the way home.

Just a photo of this banner that hangs in the multi-purpose room of the church.  It goes with us when we take the church outside the four walls.  One example is our annual end of summer picnic at a local park.  The sign goes where the church goes.  It reminds me of our church planting days and the banners strapped to the sides of the trailer that contained our equipment when we were mobile each Sunday.

The last photo is from 7 floors up in a downtown hospital in Chicago.  I have made a lot of trips into the heart of this city lately.  Keep praying for a sister in Christ named Lisa who is slowly recovering from a double heart value replacement.  Structures amaze me when you see the opportunity to span the street without ever touching it.

I am out of film so I will either have to order some online or pick some up at the numerous camera shops in Chicago.  It has been great to pick this hobby back up again but also requiring discipline to grab the camera before heading out.
