Spring is here...
I am so glad to say that the vegetables we have planted in the boxes and the garden and the house are up and going. Tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, celery, peas, bacchoy, chard, tatsoi, kale, and collards along with some strawberry plants. The garden needs a lot of attention during our cold nights in northern Michigan but we are getting a jump on what we can do.
We are also into conserving what we have so our 2003 Saturn Vue is in the shop for its 200,000 overhaul of plugs, wires, timing belt, water pump, belts, hoses, thermostat, etc. We have never taken a vehicle this far before. We have had cars with high mileage but this one we bought with 49,000 and it has been serving us well. The bad part is that the shop gave us a loaner, a 2008 Dodge Caravan and I am on a learning curve just knowing how to operate all the buttons.
Monday marks another CAT scan so I have a couple of Red-Cat bottles in the refrigerator for that event. Blood work was done on Wednesday so I should have an update on how things are going in another week. Physically I feel the best that I have ever felt and increasing the activity every day. Here is proof of the progress.
Sunday is quickly coming and we continue on in the book of Matthew. I think it will take one more Sunday to get out of Matthew 5. I have to remind myself that we started this a the first of the year and now it is the middle of April. I knew that the Sermon on the Mount would take some time. The main point this Sunday is that Jesus' standards are HIGH! Don't hate; don't entertain impure thoughts; embrace marriage; truth always; don't retaliate; and this Sunday the start of love your enemies. This is another sermon to point out where the established church at the time had twisted the teaching of the Old Testament and Jesus is coming in to set things straight. I am thankful that the Bible not only tells us the right way but also gives us living examples of it so we can see it played out. Why is it so hard to love others when God Himself loved us before we ever loved Him?
