Fresh strawberries...

Image
Did you know that strawberries are great cancer fighters?  I have learned so much about food through this adventure.  It is so great to grow them ourselves but they sure don't last long around the house.   http://www.care2.com/greenliving/strawberries-can-reverse-precancerous-progression.html This link has a great article and also video on what this food can do.  I usually don't blog about this stuff but I live by it and take advantage of what God has given us. Confirmation on a larger scale...

Every once in a while you are in a situation that lets you know that God has wired you for this.  Our searching for where God wants us next put us in front of a pastoral search team and leadership of a church for a day of getting to know one another.  As I was gazing around at the facilities and thinking of possibilities it all came down to the conversations with individuals and really that group time together that made an impact on me.        I started to look around the group and was recalling names because in that setting each person is important.  Wanting to see growth in people's lives and the life of the church came to the top of my meter rather than any decision that might come down the road.  If I could just make a difference right now and communicate something of worth with Jesus as my example that was enough.  Inside of me God was confirming and reassuring that what I do, wherever He has me or will have me, is to help people and congregations see Biblical transitio

Great video to watch...

It is amazing what God can take us through by not always solving the situation with total physical healing that may lead to less than spiritual healing of the soul to give us that total healing of the soul while dealing with our present physical requirements. Adam

A phrase that has me thinking....

Okay so here is the phrase - "What you win them with is what you win them to..."  I heard it the other night watching a webcast of Ravi Zacharias and then found out that it has been used by others in many different situations.  In that situation they were talking about reaching our teens and used it to say, "You will never win them to Jesus with entertainment.  You will win them to more entertainment.  You win them to Jesus with the message and your conviction to it."      "What you win them with..." - the what is the activity or event or content that you are going to be presenting.  That activity or event or content has good intentions to get them maybe in the building or to a point of listening to what you have to say (hopefully what God says, you are just the mouthpiece).      So if the ultimate goal is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to others, then it is really important that "what" we use to get them there doesn't oversha

What a great Father's day....

Image
First off here is the newest member of the family - Andrew David - and born on Father's day and we were able to be here for it. Second - Evan, though small, just became a big brother and he is running all of us grandparents ragged as it takes 4 of us to watch him.... Last - here is our youngest and so thankful for the opportunity to see him and his bride this weekend.   God has blessed us so much that it doesn't seem fair sometimes but I will try to steward what God has given me to His glory and honor.  Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there. What a great way to spend time with my wife on a Saturday evening...

We have been fishing together for a long time - 29 years to be exact.  We went fishing on our honeymoon.  Dad Wolfgang pulled the old real wood inside trailer up to Glennie and that was our haven for the week.  I took Stephanie to all the fishing holes and she caught most of the fish.  We did split this catch tonight but she did catch the biggest one. We donned our waders and walked the shoreline of a local lake hoping to bring in some bluegills but all we caught was bass and a lot of them - but many were too small.  We were using ultra light rods so everyone felt like a whale. Benny is really excited because he knows that we caught these for him and I'm sure they won't be around too long.  Some of our fondest memories is the time in the boat with the kids at Glennie and places beyond. Now to my Saturday night routine to be ready for another Lord's Day.  1 Peter is becoming a favorite of mine.... Adam

29 years ago today...

29 years ago today...Stephanie and I stood at an altar and pledged our faith to one another for a lifetime.  Well the lifetime isn't over yet and so the loving needs to keep going.  I truly do love her more now than I did then and I can only say that because of the experiences we have had over the years.  You think you are so in love at that altar but you have no idea the depth that it can go.  So here is to another 29 that would put us at 58 years together and if the Lord tarries we should be able to make it.      Our continued study in 1 Peter is so enlightening to me.  The thought of this faith, a conviction of a truth, but faith in what?  Peter gives us the object of that faith - a salvation provided by Jesus through His life, death, and resurrection.  A salvation that is from old passed down through the ages and prophesied by the prophets to reach forward to a time that you would hear and experience the gospel and say yes to Jesus and the angels would rejoice.  What dep
