There's a song in the air...The red, relax and religious songs of Christmas...Psalm 100

Here is our barn again but with a little snow added to the mix.  It will be great to get a shot of this when there is a lot of snow covering the trees, fence posts and roof.  We will have to wait a bit for that to happen.

The sermon this Sunday was one that I did a couple of years ago.  It is not only comparing the red songs (about the guy in the red suit), the relax songs (the ones that get you in the mood) and the religious songs of Christmas but also about the gospel presentation found in the religious songs.  It is a great sing along Sunday that allows the congregation to be a part of the process.  It is a challenge to lead singing without the piano assistance and I do make some flubs but the point got across.

The snow shoe collection is growing.  I am thankful for the resale shop in town and also those who are getting rid of these funny looking shoes.  I think we will have enough for all who are coming this Christmas season to the mountains of Colorado.  I am working on keeping the trails packed down so it will be easy going for the grand kids.

I will not only post the service from Sunday which brought in 57 but also another message from the late Dr. Voddie Bauchum on the theology of Christmas.  This was our second highest Sunday of the year with the weekend of the 4th of July bringing in 64.  We keep praying for more locals (year rounders) to make SCC their home.  We have also kept working on our new mission/purpose statement and I am preparing a message for Sunday of that content and process.  Winters are busy times around here for me.

This season is a time of gatherings so we have a picture of the women's Christmas brunch, the family Christmas dinner carol sing and also the anticipation of our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight service on Wednesday.  We are praying that each of these gatherings have helped others and ourselves to proclaim the birth of the King, His message of salvation, and His coming again!

December also marks for me an anniversary of this blog.  I started it in December of 2010 so I am completing my 15 year of posting my thoughts.  I started it after the news of my cancer diagnosis.  I am so glad that I have kept this up to be a place to gather my thoughts and share them with others.  I pray there has been some benefit to you as you read them and walk along with me on this journey with Jesus.

Adam
