Back home after 11 days on the road and 7000+ miles

Thank you all for your prayers.  The trip went without a hitch and Dad and I returned home yesterday!  He was so glad to get out of the vehicle.  Me too!!!  Some of the joy of the trip was seeing some of our family along the way.  We just have Rhoda, #4, and Norm to see when we get back to Florida. I started as a solo and then picked up Tom and his step grandson to make a trio.  When we made it to California, we added Dad and so we had a quartet coming back.  After dropping off Tom and Trenton we had a duet the remainder of the way home. The stop in Michigan allowed Tom and his family to give Dad a great meal, a place to sleep for the night, and time to catch up with son #3! The stop in New Hampshire offered us another meal and a place to sleep for the night.  Dad got to catch up with son #1, Matthew and his lovely wife Patti.   I find Stephanie when I enter my families' homes.  Here is a lighthouse in Matthew and Patti's home.  It is the Presque Isle Harbor Lighthouse. On the road post...sermon post too!

I am on a trip across America to pick up my dad from California to live with us for awhile.  One morning I experienced a Nebraska sunrise. I also met Abe Lincoln along the Wyoming highway.  He was a great site to see and reason to pull off the road for a few minutes.  I am thankful for our forefathers and what they have done for our country. I hope to post in the near future some pictures of me and my dad.  Be praying for us as we travel back the length of our beautiful country from San Diego, California to Machias, Maine, from the southwest corner to the northeast corner. I am not alone on this trip.  My brother Tom and his grand stepson Trenton has come along.  Here is Tom sharing his love of trains with some eager ears.  This was a needed stop in North Platte, Nebraska. I am so thankful for the church I serve.  Here is the sermon post of sermon #109 from the gospel according to Luke.  One more to go and I will have finished the book! Adam

An opportunity to share something that is important to me...

https://conta.cc/2XUNnLt The link takes you to an article I was asked to write about pastor groups.  Being an interim pastor, I see the opportunity to move about the country and promote more of these happening locally.  I am always amazed at the pastors that God puts around me and I have learned to make time for them in my schedule. Wednesday in the Word...John 21:21-25...what a great ending and another sermon video post

Wow - I couldn't believe I found this image when typing in what Peter said to Jesus asking about John!  Way to go Lego!  (Not sponsored in any way but sure bought a lot of their products for the kids and now starting on the grands!)   How often to we compare ourselves to others rather than keeping our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus' back.   Today's Wednesday in the Word will complete the gospel of John.  It will cover John chapter 21 and verses 21 through 25.  My adventure began with this book on October 31, 2018.  Here is the link to the very first post:   https://pastorwolfgang.blogspot.com/2018/10/a-venturing-into-gospel-according-to.html v.20, 21 - Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, "Lord, who is the one who betrays You?"  So Peter seeing him said to Jesus, "Lord, and what about this man?" Peter has had "the" conversation with Jesus.  He

Wednesday in the Word...John 21:15-19...Love, love, love...sermon post too

There is that famous pop song going through our heads now.  If the "love" of the song would be the Lord Jesus Christ, then many of the words of the song would be true.  The "love" of the passage that we are looking at today is not a person but rather an action.  The action of love is commanded by Jesus to Peter of some concrete ways to follow.  It makes an impact on the individual and on the whole group.  It is at the core of why we do what we do.  It only happens properly when we continue to follow Jesus, the fullness of the definition of love.   Also below is the posting of the final service of Luke chapter 23.  Jesus is put into the tomb with a new character to investigate who emerges onto the scene.   Today's Wednesday in the Word covers John chapter 21 and verses 15 through 19, which read, v.15 - So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?"   He said to Him

Monday Reflections from Sunday...Dare to be a Daniel...sermon post from 7/26/20

The sermon post is given at the bottom of the page for Sunday 7/26/20.  I like to keep a record on the post of successive sermons through the Gospel of Luke and so another will be coming soon for Sunday 8/2/20.   I am back to a full schedule of teaching at the church.  Sunday morning we are walking through Luke 24.  Sunday night we are looking at the book of Daniel and currently in chapter 2.  Wednesday night we are making our way through 2 Peter and also in chapter 2.  Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour I am conducting a membership class for the Sundays in August.  Lastly, I am finishing up my online masters class covering the Pauline Epistles with a paper due this weekend covering 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus.  My nose is in "the Book." I am not complaining.  It takes a lot of discipline and time management to accomplish this along with church administrative duties, weekly fellowship gatherings, and search team responsibilities but in the midst of the full sc
