This is a short presentation that looks at the big picture of things.  Stephanie and I have learned a lot from this doctor.  It sure has helped us with changing our habits.  --Adam--

A great Saturday bike ride...

Image
Wow, a ride on my bike from Cheboygan to Onaway on an old railroad bed was a great way to start the Saturday.  My legs and stamina are not what they used to be yet but it was a good test to see what I could do.  I have plenty of energy for my everyday activities and jobs, I just need to train to be prepared for more extension rides or hikes.  It was a great morning to be with some friends on the trail.      We go out of the sermon on the mount and onto chapter 8 of Matthew.  This chapter and the next deal with 9 miracles or healings that Jesus performs.  You get the idea that this is a selection that is shared from the thousands that happened.  The first 3 deal with a physical need.  The next 3 deal with Jesus' authority over nature.  The last 3 could be described as events that "we haven't seen this before" category.  After each 3 is Jesus giving a response that is much deeper or broader than the healing or miracle itself.  The first response deals with Jes

A great, great talk on marriage...

The Kellers talking on the subject of marriage!!! Here is a link to a great talk on marriage.  Some of the stats given at the beginning are pretty eye opening.  One thought is that marriage has gone from being about us to being about me.  Not a good thing. I love my wife. Adam

1 year out from my surgery....

1 year out from the surgery and if you want to see something scary, go back to the posts from last year and watch some of those videos.  What a difference a year makes and what a difference a year makes with the changes that Stephanie and I have made.  I usually don't look at myself but I look at Steph and see the changes in her.  I am still working on this wound being totally closed so everyday we repack the wound but there are no restrictions.  I am not only doing things that I didn't get to do last year but I am thankful for the energy that I can put toward more work of the gospel through the church.      So in the spirit of more information and a great story, here is another lecture that opens the mind about what God has provided for us to help us on the route of being physically healthy.  One last thought and maybe I will jinx myself but I have been only sick - a cold - once in the last year and a half.  That is through the process of chemo and radiation that knocks

Harvesting in many ways....

Image
Another great Sunday!!!  We have come to the apex of Jesus' sermon on the mount when He just comes out and asks people to come through the narrow gate and up the hard way to life, knowing that few will accept.  It was so natural this Sunday just to ask if anyone would like to go through the narrow gate.  8 stood!!!  You alone have to go through the gate and the gate is so narrow that you have to drop off everything else to get through it.  After you get through you are told that it will be hard but the reward is like none other.  Many times you might few like you are the only one on the road and all you can lean on is God.  Harvest in the church.      Here is a picture of another harvest. The bag on the left is 2 kinds of kale.  The center bag is a combination of beet greens, collards, red and white chard.  The bag on the right is turnip greens.  These are my proteins and also in combination with some fruits and other vegetables has been keeping me going.  It is so grea

We were so thankful to come across this used canoe that has brought us some great diversions as the children have been home.  We have many little lakes in close driving distance that has been great to explore and fish.  Jason and Phil (our son-in-law) had some fish dinners too!!!      I am approaching the anniversary date of my surgery.  My bag reminds me but if it wasn't there I would have a hard time thinking all that happened last year.  Some upcoming tests coming to check everything out but all routine so far.        Well back to the garden...
